Lonely Planet author Sally O’Brien has worn out shoes walking through Copenhagen, the bridge between Europe and Scandanavia. By the way, in case you’re trying to learn Danish, they all speak English better than you do. Produced by Lonely Planet TV

  • @ezerinis This was probably recorded in either early winter or early spring.
This is Scandinavia, in the winter season it’s cold, we have very few hours of daylight, there are no leaves on the trees and people stay indoor most of the time, and if we go out we are wrapped in thick clothes to not freeze our backsides off :o ) Wait untill summertime – the town will sizzle with people, and don’t forget: Danes are actually the happiest people on the planet :o )

  • @GR8DIVINE1 Well… I’m not sure, but i think in August, there’s alot of viking festivals. I really recommend them.

  • Haha, the paper guy at 00.27 is really….what can you say….forward.., he smacked my butt once with a paper because i didn’t wanted one.

  • I live your video very much. Your comments are very interesting. It’s as if we were there going here and there hanging around in the city of Copenhagen.
Welll done. Suddenly, I feel like going there.Thank you very much for this beautiful video

  • wow it looks just wonderful there :) <3

  • @w0ll3sup3r You have a wonderful capital but actually i rather visit Stockholm! But thats just my opinion! But still you have a very beautiful capital!!!!

  • @w0ll3sup3r cheers mate will look into those

  • @GR8DIVINE1 August is a really good time to go. It is probably the time of year where the weather is best.. If you go to Copenhagen there is Tivoli which is a must see I guess. There are all sorts of things going on all year. Denmark is really small so you can also easilly visit other places. Aarhus, second largest city has a lot like the old town, well preserved medieval town. Randers has the indoor rainforrest (only 50km north of Aarhus) and there is much more to see, spread out all over :)

  • @lilleliloh thanks for responding.. can’t wait till i go it looks like i will have a lot of fun there

  • @GR8DIVINE1 there is always something to do during the summer in Copenhagen. shopping, stay on the beach, sailing and partying. whatever you like. it is a very beautiful and happy city.

  • Thank you for making this video of your trip to Denmark. It is always nice to get some criticism and feedback, as well as see what an outsider thinks of us Danes. Danish people are as you said, probably not the most out going people, IF you do not know them, but are never shy to help others. Just get them a bit drunk and you’ll see them change. I promise :-)

  • Want to visit denmark .But it will take a time.

  • cant wait to visit Denmark.. anyone have any suggestions of things to do there in August?

  • Take Reverb on your next vacation–a must read in your travel bag about a master musician who learns to love someone other than himself. See reviews and preview on reverbnovel or jcafesin website…

  • haha it’s sound so funny when she talks danish.. come to denmark it’s a wonderful land, you will love it.. i live here, and i love it!

  • Great place, agree with u

  • @RacofItaly Copen is more fast going and more mad over time spand on getting places, and money is a big thing there …. Aahus are more easy going people, money not the biggest thing and faster to get arund !

Jutland people are just more down to the earth then them from Copenhaven !

  • So cool that people are talking about Danish, sweet but yea ^^

  • @ringer100982 Thank you for your thoughts about Danes. One of my best friends is Colombian. Another Bulgarian and a third Spanish. People are different yet similar. The similarity stressed by one of the other commentators were wrong. I sincerely believe so.

  • @Kimse84 I haven’t read the article yet but I agree with the previous comment that Danes are one of the friendliest people in the world. I am lucky to have one. I am a Filipino and I think Danes are one of the coolest.

  • Super! Excellent and interesting presentation! Thanks for this video!

  • @RacofItaly CPH is at least four times bigger than Aarhus. The main difference between people from Jutland and Sealand (CPH) is spending albeit it is only a stereotype. People from Jutland are said to keep their wallets in their pockets, while people of Sealand are big spenders. People from Jutland are also more provincial since the only real metropolis or big city is Copenhagen.

  • @Kimse84 do u know Copenaghen?i know pretty well aarhus(studied there).can u tell me the main difference between Copen. and Aarhus? for example some people from Copen. told me that people in Copen. are less seriouse and more open mind than in Jutland! other people say it is not tue cause dk is small country so there are not so mach difference as in a big country as Germany or spain!second is it much bigger than Aarhus Copenaghen? is it double than Aarhus?
    Vengling Hilsen fra India!

  • @ezerinis the sky in denmark is usually always gray better u know that, but the building are often colorated and it is nice!

  • @ezerinis Denmark is a wonderful country and there is a lot of good people here. I am Dane, and I do not accept OhSleeperAwake’s portrait. Danes can be tough to get in touch with, but if you succeed, you will be treated like a part of that Dane’s family. You will have a friend for life.
