  • You can also use fresh pinestraw as mulch. It? is alot cheaper than buying bagged mulch. I am lucky to have pine trees in my yard and I just use the dead pinestraw. Gotta use what you get I guess…

  • Donna, I have enjoyed watching all of your videos today. I have to say I have learned alot. This is my 2nd? year doing the square foot garden. I have 3 8 x 4 beds that I plant in. I have been itching to get out there but since I live in Ohio, there isn’t too much I can plant now. I do have potatoes in a container, onions, broccoli, and lettuce in my garden. I hope my garden is as successful as yours! Thank you for doing these highly educational and fun videos!

  • I start all of my plants in a hoop house / greenhouse.? You can build one for about 200 dollars and move it with you if you move since you are renting. Check out my channel to see how I made mine!. OH…. try not to place it too close to an old tree with dead limbs! Check out my latest video to see what happened to mine!

  • You might want to secure those cages to the deck railing. Once your plants grow up the cage they are vulnerable? to strong winds.

  • enjoyed your video. I need to get out into my garden, I haven’t started planting yet. I will this weekend for sure. The weather will be nice this? weekend and rain next week, so that will be perfect. Looking forward to your next update.

  • nice? =-)

  • great video, Donna..didnt know u could transplant carrot seedlings, thought they were too fragile..now I know and will try,? ty.

  • When I kept a row garden instead of a SFG I ALWAYS made a tunnel of chick? wire (just like chicken wire but smaller mesh) over my peas (you can anchor it with forked branches). Otherwise the birds got all of them.
Deborah in Washington St….where I am replanting the peas that rotted in the rain, sad but hopeful.

  • That tree back by your garden with all the white flowers on it is so pretty! We don’t? have trees like that down here in tx!

  • Donna if you can get a hold of some cardboard it will work as weed block. when it breaks down just put it in your? compost bin and add more cardboard. Just a ideal.
